# Targets

How REKT Bot targets work: Take Profit, Stop Loss, SL +% and Trailing Stop with Trigger, Dev Sell and Migration Sell, with animated examples.

Targets sell your tokens automatically when the price moves the way you set. REKT watches the price for you, so the Telegram bot and REKT Manager do not need to be open.

### How targets work

* **A target belongs to one open position.** You set targets on a token you hold. With no position, there is nothing for a target to sell.
* **Percent is counted from your entry.** +100% means the price doubled from your buy price, the same profit % your position shows. If you bought more than once, it is your average entry.
* **Every target has a sell %: how much of your tokens it sells.** You set it next to the level, from 1% to 100%. The sell % is a share of what you hold at that moment. After TP1 sells 50%, TP2 with 50% sells half of the tokens that are left, which is 25% of the original amount.
* **Each target has its own slippage and fees.** Any you do not set come from your sell settings.
* **A target fires once.** After it sells, it turns off. When the position is fully sold, the other targets on it turn off too.
* **The bot tells you.** When a target fires you get a message, for example "TP1 triggered", then "Sell Transaction Confirmed" with how much you sold and for how much SOL.

Each position has room for:

| Target | How many |
| -------------------------------------- | ------------------------- |
| Take Profit | 5 (TP1 to TP5) |
| Stop Loss -% | 1 |
| Stop Loss +%, with or without Trigger | 1 |
| Trailing Stop, with or without Trigger | 1 |
| Dev Sell | 1 |
| Migration Sell | 1 (launchpad tokens only) |

### Take Profit

Take Profit sells part of your position when profit reaches a level. Use up to five levels to take profit in steps.

Example: TP1 at **+100%** sells **50%**. TP2 at **+200%** sells **50%** of what is left. After both, you still hold 25% of the tokens, and the rest of the run is free profit.

Animated example and setup: [Take Profit](https://rektbot.gitbook.io/solana/quick-bot-guide/targets/take-profit).

### Stop Loss

Stop Loss sells when the loss reaches the percent you set, counted from your entry.

Example: SL at **-30%** with sell **100%** sells all your tokens if the price falls 30% below your buy price.

Animated example and setup: [Stop Loss + Trigger](https://rektbot.gitbook.io/solana/quick-bot-guide/targets/stop-loss-+-trigger).

### Stop Loss +% and Trigger

**SL +%** keeps part of a profit. It sells if profit falls back to a fixed level above your entry. It does not move with the price.

**Trigger** makes SL +% wait. It turns on only after profit reaches the trigger level, so a dip right after you buy does not sell you out.

Example: Trigger **+100%**, SL **+20%**, sell **100%**. Nothing happens until the token doubles. From then on, if profit falls back to +20%, the bot sells all your tokens.

Animated example and setup: [Stop Loss + Trigger](https://rektbot.gitbook.io/solana/quick-bot-guide/targets/stop-loss-+-trigger).

### Trailing Stop and Trigger

**Trailing Stop** follows the highest price and sells when the price drops the set percent from that peak. While the price rises, the stop rises with it. It never moves down.

**Trigger** makes the trailing stop wait until profit reaches the trigger level. From that moment it starts to follow the peak.

Example: Trigger **+100%**, Trailing Stop **20%**, sell **100%**. The token runs to **+250%** (3.5x your entry). A 20% drop from that peak is 2.8x, so the bot sells all your tokens at about **+180%**.

The trailing percent is a drop in price from the peak, not a drop in profit points: 20% below a +250% peak is +180%, not +230%.

Animated example and setup: [Trailing Stop + Trigger](https://rektbot.gitbook.io/solana/quick-bot-guide/targets/trailing-stop-+-trigger).

### Dev Sell and Migration Sell

These two targets react to events instead of the price.

* **Dev Sell** watches the wallet that created the token. When the creator sells the share of their tokens you set (for example any sell, or their whole bag), the bot sells the percent of your position you chose.
* **Migration Sell** is for launchpad tokens. It sells the percent you chose when the token migrates from the launchpad to a DEX. It is shown only while the token is still on the launchpad.

Setup: [DevSell & Migration Sell](https://rektbot.gitbook.io/solana/quick-bot-guide/targets/devsell-and-migration-sell).

### Default targets

Default targets are a ready set that is added to your new buys, so you do not have to set targets on every token. Each default target has its own switch, and only the ones you turned on are added.

* They are added to new positions only. Open positions and buys of a token you already hold keep the targets they have.
* Manual buys and limit orders use them.
* Copy-Trade and AFK tasks have their own choice per task: **Use Default targets** or **Use Custom targets**.

Set them in the Telegram bot under **/settings** or in REKT Manager under [Settings → Default targets](https://rektbot.gitbook.io/solana/web-manager/settings#default-targets).

### Where to set targets

* **Telegram bot:** open the position (paste the token address or find it in **/portfolio**) and tap **TP/SL/TS**.
* **REKT Manager:** on the token card in [Monitors](https://rektbot.gitbook.io/solana/web-manager/monitors), under **Orders & targets**.
* **Quick commands:** **/tp1** to **/tp5**, **/sl**, **/slp**, **/slpt**, **/ts** and **/tst**. See [Quick commands](https://rektbot.gitbook.io/solana/quick-bot-guide/quick-commands).
